Thank you for visiting Fawn Psychology.
I am Jenny Gray, an HCPC Registered Educational and Child Psychologist, providing independent Educational Psychology consultation, assessment and therapeutic support for children, young people and their families.
Whether you are seeking answers about your child's learning and development, support for their emotional wellbeing, or guidance in navigating educational processes, my aim is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your child's strengths, experiences and support needs, so that together we can identify practical ways forward.

Every Child Has Their Own Story
If you're here, you may already have been on a challenging journey. You may be concerned about your child's learning, wondering why school has become difficult, seeking answers about possible learning differences, or looking for support with their emotional wellbeing.
Seeking support can feel like a big step, but it is often the beginning of developing a deeper understanding of your child and identifying the support that will help them flourish.
I believe that every child is more than the challenges they may be facing. My role is to listen carefully, think collaboratively and develop a thoughtful understanding of how each child learns, feels and experiences the world. From there, we can identify practical, compassionate ways to support both their wellbeing and their educational development.
How I Can Help
Every family comes with a different story, which is why support is always tailored to the individual child and their circumstances.
I offer:
- Consultation to help families, schools and professionals think through concerns and identify appropriate next steps.
- Educational Psychology assessments to develop a deeper understanding of a child's learning, development, strengths and support needs, including assessment for specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia where appropriate.
- Independent Educational Psychology assessments for Additional Support for Learning (ASL), Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and wider educational planning.
- Therapeutic support for children and young people experiencing anxiety, school-related difficulties, emotional distress, reduced confidence and other emotional challenges.
Together, we will identify the approach that best meets your child's individual strengths, experiences and support needs.
A Collaborative and Neuroaffirming Approach
My work is collaborative, child-centred and neuroaffirming.
I work alongside children, young people, families, schools and other professionals to build a fuller understanding of each child's unique profile. Rather than focusing solely on difficulties, I seek to understand the whole child and the environments in which they learn, develop and thrive.
This approach helps ensure that recommendations are meaningful, practical and responsive to each child's individual learning profile and support needs.
Flexible Support Across Scotland and the UK
Most services are delivered online, making Educational Psychology support accessible to families, schools and professionals across Scotland and the UK.
Many children and young people engage confidently from the comfort of their own home. Where appropriate, I also offer in-person appointments in St Andrews and Dundee.
Before we begin, I will take time to understand your concerns and discuss the most appropriate way to support your child. If I feel another service or professional would better meet your child's needs, I will explain my reasoning and help you consider the most appropriate next steps.
Working Together
Choosing the right support for your child is an important decision.
Whether you are seeking consultation, assessment or therapeutic support, my aim is always the same: to help children and young people feel understood, supported and able to thrive.
I look forward to working alongside you and your child to better understand their strengths, experiences and support needs, helping them move forward with confidence.
Fawn Psychology works in partnership with The St Andrew’s Practice and The Invertay Practice.
